GR Book Help
Search for GRs
One of the powerful and most useful features of this web application is the search tool.
You may enter your search criteria (presented in a simple paragraph style), in the respective boxes to get the required results. The criteria can be entered in any combinantion of the boxes presented in this screen.
How it is used
Search looks for all those GRs which have an instance of all the word(s) entered in the first box, following the "Search for all GRs dealing with" line. The search is limited to the "Description box " for every GR.
When you wish to search for GRs dealing with a specific set of key-words (that you will enter in the first box) and you wish to search.......
a) ....amongst all the GRs in the GR book, then do not mention any Division or Branch.
b) ....for a particular Division in the Directorate, enter the Division choice.
c) ....you may also limit your search to a specific Branch where in you will have to specify division.
NOTE: You may perform all the above searches in combination with the Date (of issue of the GRs) too. Also when you enter both the dates then GRs between (inclusive of) the dates are searched for. You may enter a single date too and GRs issued on that date shall be searched for.
The search results screen has the list of GRs searched for on the left-hand side and on the right hand-side are the details (of a selected GR from the search results).
If the search, results in no output, then a message is displayed - 'Sorry, no GRs were found for the entered values...'.
The search results are displayed in groups of five GRs on the left hand side and if they exceed five, then the number of groups that they occupy, are displayed below it. Clicking on any number shall take you to the respective group with the details of the first GR displayed on the right hand side.
