Gujarat has become the most sought after destination for many international companies in recent times. Amongst them, many reputed companies in the automobiles sector have set up base in our State. Gujarat has emerged the Auto Hub of the Nation. This has necessitated the availability of adequately technically skilled and industry-employable manpower in the automobile sector in the State.

A workshop was organized to deliberate upon the requirement of skilled manpower for the automobile industries and training facilities required for meeting the manpower demand was thoroughly discussed. This workshop was attended by the representatives of Tata Motors, Tata Nano and groups of companies of their Vendor Parks, Maruti Limited, Ford India, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Subros, Eicher and representatives of authorized dealers of heavy vehicles, technical experts of service centers and industry representatives.

There was unanimous demand for making available specialized training facilities for producing highly skilled and trained manpower for the use of automobile industries and the ancillary industries coming up in Gujarat, It was also stressed that the specialized training facilities should provide training on superior technology used in automobile industries so that the manpower coming out of these training centers are industry-relevant and immediately deployable. Valuable suggestions were received on preparing syllabi for preparing moduls on Superior Technology in Automobile Service Sector Courses and the training infrastructure required to be established by way of equipments, machinery, tools etc. at such training centers.

Under the valuable guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat and the directions of the Hon’ble Minister of Department of Labour & Employment, Gujarat, an open forum was organized with the Industries, Industrial Associations, ITIs, technical experts to deliberate upon and formulate strategies to provide highly skilled and specialized technical manpower at the shop floor level relevant to the technological needs of the industry in the wake of the rapid industrial development in the State.

Based on the feedback and suggestions received by the Directorate of Employment & Training under the Department of Labour & Employment, Short Term Courses on Superior Technology are being offered through the advanced laboratories & workshops set up in the ITIs for imparting highly specialized training to fulfill the demands of the industries.

A workshop was organized with leading industry and Industrial Association to deliberate upon the requirement of industry to prepare training programme to use superior technology in CNC Technology and to prepare training facilities. This workshop was attended by representatives of Rajkot Engineering Association, President and Secretary of Machine Tools Manufacturing Association, representatives of G.I.D.C. Association along with Chairman of Institute Man agement Committee (I.M.C.) and Jyoti C.N.C. Automation Ltd. other leading representatives. In the meeting, it was stressed for the specialized training facilities for C.N.C. Operator and C.N.C. Programming.

Ltd, Transpak Industries Ltd, GSFC Vadodara, Banco Product India P. Ltd, Vadodara, Reliance Industries Ltd. Petrochemical Ltd, Vadodara, In the meeting which is held in Vadodara region , it was stressed for the specialized training facilities for Chemical Sector.

A meeting was organized with leading Solar Park Developers, like Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute ( GERMI ) and Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporaton ( GETCO ) to deliberate upon the requirement of industry to prepare training programme to use superior technology in Solar Sector. The meeting was stressed for the specialized training facilities for Solar Sector.
