In Gujarat State more than 7,00,000 students appear for Std. 10th & 12th examinations. Out of this only few students are lucky to get admission in Medical, Engineering & rest of the candidates have to select Arts or Commerce stream. In this stream the employment opportunities are very less & the time duration is very lengthy as a result the candidates become non-zealous. On the other hand, in Gujarat State the investment in industries is more than 1.25 lacs crores, as a result the industry needs skilled & semi-skilled workers. In the near future the employment in the skilled & semi-skilled areas will be more, and for that the professional education is must for such candidates.
The main motto is to give training to the candidates in the different developing technologies & to support them for employment / self-employment by providing fundamental training and this scheme is operated by Director General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour Government of India. Under this scheme the duration of this program is between 1 to 3 years. According to this scheme the daily training period will be of 8 hours out of these 4 & 1/2 hours are for practical training. Labour Training Scheme is implemented by Industrial Training Institutes, where there is no any vacation. In this Institutions there is no union activities similar to schools & colleges. At the end of the training 80 % presence is required for appearing in the examination and there is no any compromise on that. Admitted students have to follow the rules & regulations strictly. At the end of the training every year, in the month of July, the National Council for Vocational Training conducts All India Vocational Examination,according to the NCVT pattern. Successful candidates will be awarded National Trade Certificate by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India that is very useful for the employment in the country as well as in the foreign countries. For the State level courses the examination is conducted by the State Council for Vocational Training and the certificate is issued for the same.
